Lithium Battery Washing Tester
This is a dedicated testing device for the washing test of lithium-ion battery packs used in handheld electronic products such as laptops, mobile phones, cameras and game consoles, lithium-ion battery packs for portable electronic products that may be carried or used in pockets, battery packs for other portable electronic products that can be carried in pockets, and handheld electronic products fitted with non-user-replaceable batteries/battery packs, all as specified in Chapter 8 of GB 31241-2014 Safety Requirements for Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs for Portable Electronic Products. Its technical specifications comply with the relevant requirements of GB 31241-2014 and IEC 62133-2:2017.

1.2 Requirements of Relevant Standard Clauses
The requirements for the washing test of lithium battery packs in GB 31241-2014 are detailed in Chapter 8 and Appendices E, F (italicized parts).
This chapter of battery pack environmental safety tests applies to lithium-ion battery packs, as well as integrated samples consisting of non-user-replaceable batteries/battery packs and their associated electronic products.
Washing test samples shall pass the washing test specified in Appendix F to verify their qualification, or additional warning statements shall be added. An example of the warning statement is as follows: Do not use the battery after immersion in water!
2 Equipment Composition, Main Performance and Technical Specifications
2.1 Equipment Composition
The lithium battery washing test device consists of two parts: the test section and the operation/control section.
The test section includes three components: the washing test barrel, the rotating device, the washing liquid supply and recovery system, and the heating system for washing liquid and battery drying.
The operation/control section is equipped with functions such as rotation control, washing liquid supply and emptying control, liquid level control, and heating control. The control section is realized by a PLC + touch screen human-machine interface (HMI).
2.2 Main Performance
2.2.1 Cabinet Structure and Material
Adopting a box-type structure with the test section separated from the operation/control section, it facilitates testing and operation/control, and is also equipped with an effective flameproof function. For aesthetic and rust-proof purposes, the cabinet is made of stainless steel with a powder-coated surface; universal casters and adjustable support feet are installed at the bottom for easy equipment movement and fixation.
2.2.2 Washing Test Barrel and Rotating Device
All parts in contact with liquid are made of stainless steel. A servo motor is adopted for rotation drive to ensure the stability and reliability of the rotating system; the supply and discharge of liquid in the washing test barrel are controlled by electric water valves, and the device is also equipped with a washing function for the test barrel; the test batteries can be fixed quickly and conveniently.
2.2.3 Washing Liquid Supply and Recovery System
The device is designed with a dedicated washing liquid storage tank for storing the prepared washing liquid for tests. The supply of washing liquid is controlled by a liquid level sensor to realize the automatic supply function of washing liquid.
2.2.4 Heating System for Washing Liquid and Battery Drying
The device is equipped with a heating system that meets the temperature control accuracy specified in the standard, so as to satisfy the heating requirements for washing liquid and battery drying.
2.2.5 Operation/Control Section
A rational PLC + touch screen HMI is adopted to realize the operation and control of functions such as rotation control, washing liquid supply and emptying control, liquid level control, and heating control of the lithium battery washing test device. The operation/control mode can be freely selected between the standard control mode and the custom mode, which facilitates the verification tests specified in the standard as well as the preliminary tests for scientific research and development. It also prevents potential equipment obsolescence caused by standard revisions.
